🧠 WHY SMART ATHLETES SCALE (and why you should too 📝)

▪️ To hit the intended stimulus ➡️ to create positive adaptions (progress). They know that hitting the intended stimulus will reap rewards far greater than missing the stimulus and going “rx”.

▪️To reduce the risk of injury ➡️ If they know they are under-fuelled, fatigued or unwell they will not perform at their best and so risk of injury is increased. They know it’s better to get a session in at lower intensity or with less complex movements than trying to workout “rx” and getting hurt or having an unenjoyable session ❌

◼️ To challenge themselves and experience movements they don’t do frequently. Smart athletes don’t exclusively train the highest skill versions of any movement, they train ALL versions to ensure variety ➡️ they know you are never too good for the basics

◾️Because they check their ego at the door. They know doing movements which challenge them but can be done safely and efficiently is far better than doing movements which are too challenging and won’t drive progress.
