Michael Gray

Hi! My name is Michael, I’ve been a personal trainer for over 25 years….wow I’m old…and have held various positions in health clubs up to General Manager. Throughout all that time group exercise has always been my passion, the energy and buzz you can generate from a small group of like-minded individuals is infectious…and there is no other feeling like it!

I got into CrossFit after suffering a serious neck injury in 2016. Unable to play my beloved rugby anymore, I was searching for something to fill the void….very quickly, CrossFit became my crutch. Again at the start of 2024, I suffered my second neck injury….another operation, and CrossFit yet again came to my aid.

Most people think CrossFit is scary…intimidating….for athletes….but for me it’s about community, support….a crutch in time of need and it gives you the air under your wings.

I’m very happily married to Jo…(does that make her my boss?….answers on a postcard) and jumped at the chance to be part of the Unity coaching team!! Outwith the gym I have a successful barbershop and of course have my amazing little Cocopops!!! She’s my little shadow and will be a regular at training! Can’t wait to see you in class!!
