❓How to approach the festive season 🎄🧑🎄🎁
• Should I track macros?
• Should I avoid alcohol?
• Should I say no when the mince pies are being passed round at the office?
• Is it ok if I take a few days off training?
• Is it ok if I stick to my regular training schedule?
🧠It’s so easy to get caught up with what we think we “should” or “shouldn’t” be doing at this time of the year, as if there are “good” or “bad” choices. And we know this time of year can cause some anxiety due to social pressures and reduced structure 🤯
But very rarely is life ever that binary – it’s ALL about context and doing what’s right FOR YOU! 💙
Ask yourself: “what’s going to bring me joy at this time of year?” Then try to focus on doing more of those things 🥳
For many the festive period is about time with family and friends, human connection and making special memories ❤️ This may mean the social calendar is be pretty busy with more eating and drinking out 🥂🍴🪩
Maybe that means you enjoy a mince pie here and there or go out for dinner more often – that’s great! 😋
Maybe you’re teetotal and pass on the mince pies because that’s what is aligned with your goals and what makes you feel good – that’s also great! 😊
Giving yourself permission to be flexible is key but sticking to as consistent a routine as possible is important too! 🔑
Just because it’s the festive szn doesn’t mean you should have chocolate for breakfast every day 🍫 but equally you shouldn’t feel guilty if you don’t track every calorie that enters your mouth! 😇
